James
Copestake
James was born and raised in Grimsby. He studied Performance for Live and Recorded Media at Teesside University, and at The Identity School of Acting.
On the Manchester fringe he was The Woodcutter in Lorcas’s Blood Wedding, Alan Bennett in The Lady in the Van, and Ben in original work Benefits.
On screen he played a disturbed young man opposite Ben Whishaw in the hit BBC 2 Drama London Spy, directed by Jakob Verbruggen and Taylor Lewis in BBC1’s Casualty. He also has a cameo appearance in feature film The Pay Day on Amazon Prime. He was an opportunistic thug in independent film The Cloaking, a lovelorn protagonist in About A Girl, and a vegan vampire in comedy-horror Lockerbilly.
He also writes scripts and has completed an original comedy-drama series which he is pitching for TV. He’s also a great cook!
